Josef Barta (14. 6. 1864 Prague - 15. 3. 1919 Prague) painter and graphic artist
He studied at the Prague Academy with Professor Max Pirner, from 1896 to 1898 he studied with Professor J. Marak. In 1898 - 1900 he was a member of the Manes Association of Fine Artists. From the realistic landscape painting, he moved from 1900 to the work influenced by Impressionism, and in later years he painted decorative landscapes of larger dimensions with figural staff. He also made puppets for puppet theaters.
