Marie Chodounska (August 19, 1871 - December 5, 1922 in Prague) painter

She studied privately Karel Liebscher 1889-1891 and then at the painting school of Ferdinand Engelmüller, where she stayed until 1907. In 1909 she had her first solo exhibition in the Topic Salon, which met with extraordinary success especially with art critics. Then she exhibited in March 1917 in the Rubes Gallery. She liked painting landscapes from the Alps, Beskydy, Sumava and Prague motifs. She also tried a few prints using the etching technique. Until his death, her father, prof. Her posthumous exhibition was organized by the House of Artists in Prague in June 1923.
