Josef Hodek ( June 12, 1888 in Horehledy near Pilsen - October 14, 1973 in Pilsen ) painter and graphic artist
He studied at the Teaching Institute, but he studied art with his father the painter Josef Hodek (1856-1927), under Josef Vachal, K. Reisner and Alexandr de Pian in Prague. in 1921 in Prague, Pilsen, Brussels, London and Leipzig. Individually exhibited in 1933 in Hradec Kralove and Pilsen, work from 1925 - 1948 exhibited in Prague in 1948. Year 1941 stopped teaching and devoted to painting. In 1922 - Since 1926 he was a member of the Pilsen Artists' Association. He also worked as a teacher in the Slovacko region. Shortly before his death, he handed over the collection material and the manuscript of the summary monograph of the Javorce village to the Slovacko Museum in Uherske Hradiste. Represented in the collections of the National Gallery in Prague, Prague City Gallery, West Bohemian Museum in Pilsen and elsewhere.
