Otakar Hurka ( September 10, 1889 Kolodeje u Prahy - July 21, 1966 ) painter and graphic artist
He studied at the Alois Kalvoda Landscape School. He went on a study trip to France in 1920, and the following year he exhibited at the Paris Spring and also the Autumn Salon. At that time his works were published in French art magazines. He has been appointed a member of Salon dˇAutomne.
After his return he devoted himself to landscape painting, mainly around Posazavi and also Polabi. He also published a set of woodcuts with his beloved Posazavi. He also worked as an ex-libris, illustrated books and magazines. His works have been reproduced in Golden Prague, Veraikon and others. He has exhibited independently since 1908. He is one of our favorite landscape painters.
