Studied at the School of Applied Arts in Prague 1925 - 1931 prof. Frantisek Kysela, prof. Jaroslav Benda. In 1939 - 1948 he was the head of the graphic school Officina Pragensis in Prague ( founded by Hugo Steiner-Prag, during his absence during the Second World War ).
