German printmaker, engraver and miniature painter. One of the founders of German Baroque printmaking. He trained under the miniature painter Friedrich Brentl in Strasbourg. He lived and worked in Italy for many years, staying in Rome with the famous Czech painter Karel Skreta. Based on his drawings of costumes of various nationalities, Melchior Küsel in Ausburg engraved a graphic sheet.
