Bedrich Knopp ( January 7, 1919 in Budapest - March 22, 1991 in Ostrava ) painter, graphic artist and illustrator

He studied painting and drawing under prof. Oldřich Blažíček and Cyril Bouda at VŠAPS Czech Technical University in Prague. He studied privately with Emanuel Frinta in Prague and attended Otakar Nejedly's landscape courses. After 1946, he worked as an art teacher, assistant professor at the Department of Art Education at the Faculty of Education in Ostrava and at the Evening School of Art and Promotion. He was a member of the Professional Organization of Czech Artists in Prague since 1942, the Moravian-Silesian Artists in Ostrava in 1943, the Syndicate of Czechoslovak Artists in 1947, the Union of Czechoslovak Artists in 1950. He was involved in drawing and painting figures in motion, landscape painting. Illustrated short stories, engaged in the creation of posters, between 1960 - 1985 collaborated with the State Theater in Ostrava as a stage designer. He exhibited individually and collectively, especially in Ostrava. His works are represented in the museum in Klimkovice.
