Milena Komrsova ( June 21, 1912 in Humpolec - April 13, 1966 in Prague ) painter

She studied under prof. Z. Kratochvil at The Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague under prof. F. Thiele and prof. Obrovsky at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, (1933 - 1938), fresco department at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris (1945 - 1946), and the Mosaic and Frescoes Studio in Rome (1948 - 1949). She was involved in drawing figural paintings, mostly abstracted female and girl characters, with often contrasting white and black. It is characterized by austerity of round shapes in cold tones, in simple composition, in suppression of details. She also dealt with monumental works for architecture. She exhibited at the "Ars" in Prague.
