Jaroslav Kutman ( 4. 12. 1889 in Doubravany near Jicin - 17. 10. 1957 in Novy Bydzov ) painter and teacher

He studied architecture and building construction at the Technical University in Prague for three years. Then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague under prof. V. Bukovac, F. Thiele and V. Nechleba in 1918 - 1925. He was a figuralist and landscape painter. He was active in Prague. From 1921 he taught drawing at secondary school, then became an assistant at the Institute of Drawing and Painting at the Czech Technical University in Prague. Since 1930 he had his own painting school. He published the magazine Education for Arts, was the chairman of the Czechoslovak Art Association and the Artistic Association of Teachers. He exhibited in 1932 and 1934 in Prague.
