Augustin Nemejc ( March 15, 1861 Nepomuk near Pilsen - August 16, 1938 Pilsen ) painter
He trained as a watchmaker, but in the years 1883 - 1884 he already studied painting with prof. Frantisek Sequens at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, his studies continued at the Academy in Munich 1884 - 1885 ( Akademie der bildenden Künste ) with prof. Alexandr von Wagner, Nicolaos Gyzes. After his studies, he worked as a painter and teacher in Pilsen. His paintings mainly represented the life of ordinary people in the Pilsen region. For the painting - Hopeless Love - he won the annual Hlavka Scholarship in Paris at the General Provincial Jubilee Exhibition in Prague in 1891, where he met painter Vojtech Hynais. Member of the Association of Young Czech Artists - Skreta, Union of Fine Artists ( 1898 - 1952 ), Association of Fine Artists Manes, Czech Academy of Sciences and Arts, since 1925 Association of West Bohemian Fine Artists. Collected in Pilsen in 1920 and in Prague, the Union of Fine Artists in the Municipal House, Picture Gallery in Pilsen. He also exhibited at the annual exhibitions of the Manes Association. Represented by his paintings: the Gallery of the Capital City of Prague, the West Bohemian Gallery and the Museum in Pilsen.
