Jaroslav Serych (27. 2. 1928 Havlíčkův Brod - 23. 3. 2014 Prague) painter, graphic artist, illustrator, typographer
Studied: 1946 - 1948 Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Jablonec n / Nisou (prof. Viktor Vorlicek and Josef Kirchner), 1948 - 1950 Secondary School of Applied Arts in Turnov, 1950 - 1957 Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (prof. Vlastimil Rada, prof. Vladimir Pukl 1955 - 1957); Vladimír Silovsky, ibid. In his work he devoted himself to free graphics, painting, mosaics, books, illustrations, bibliophiles, later he also made copper plates. He has exhibited independently since 1962 (about forty exhibitions), he has had collective exhibitions since 1956. He is a member of the Association of Czech Graphic Artists Hollar, May 57 Group, Art Discussion, Czech Fine Arts Fund, Group G, Creative Team Index. Represented by his works: National Gallery Prague, State Regional and Regional Galleries, Museums, Abroad - National Gallery of Art Washington, New York Public Library, Vaticanocollezione di arte religiosa Modern Roma, Warsaw, Slovakia. Awards and distinctions: The President of the Republic Award for Merit in the Art of 2008, received many awards and recognition for the most beautiful book of the year - in Czechoslovakia and abroad (Paris, Bologna).
