Richard Uherek ( April 27, 1900 Holesov - March 31, 1974 Veselicko near Prerov ) painter

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in a landscape specialization with Professor Otakar Nejedly 1928 - 1930. He focused mainly on landscape painting, he liked to capture the Adriatic coast and the historic city centers - Split, Dubrovnik, Sarajevo. In our country, he captured his native region, Hostynske vrchy, Prerovsko and the surroundings of Velke Karlovice. He also occasionally painted floral still lifes and portraits. He was a member of the Ales Association in Brno, with which he exhibited in Czech and Moravian cities. He exhibited in Olomouc and the Prerov region. Brother of painter and restorer Rudolf Uherek. Represented in the collections of the Comenius Museum in Prerov.
