Frantisek Zikmund ( June 29, 1893 in Zeleznice u Jicina - September 4, 1955 in Prague ) painter

He studied at the School of Applied Arts in Prague under Professors Emanuel Child and Karel Vitezslav Masek and after the end of the First World War he joined the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where he studied under Professor Max Pirner from 1919 to 1923. still life. In the late period he worked on portraits of eg representatives of science and returned to figural creation. He was a member of the Manes Association of Fine Artists. He exhibited independently in Prague 1934 - 1954, in Brno, Mlada Boleslav and elsewhere.
He exhibited collectively mainly in Prague, also in Zlin and elsewhere. His works are represented in the collections of the National Gallery in Prague, Prague City Gallery, East Bohemian Gallery in Pardubice, Gallery of Fine Arts in Cheb, Regional Gallery in Liberec, Gallery of Modern Art in Roudnice nad Labem, Regional Gallery of Fine Arts in Zlín, Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava and elsewhere.
